Accessible education and outreach activities on and around horses
In the Company of Horses (ITCH) is a not-for-profit community interest company situated at Kingsmead Equestrian Centre in Warlingham. Our aim is to offer accessible activities to anyone who could benefit from being in the company of our herd.
Kingsmead Equestrian Centre (KEC) is a large friendly riding school licenced by Tandridge District Council.
KEC are accredited by the RDA (Riding for the Disabled), Pony Club UK, the Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) as well as being an accredited Equine Assisted Therapy Centre (ACCPH).
ITCH aims to support the emotional, physical and social wellbeing of everyone by offering easy, affordable access to horses, therapeutic activities and equine education.
We are 100% Horse Centric, ensuring that the unique bond between horse and client is based on care, co-operation, consideration and consent.
Being ‘In the Company of Horses’ can include anything from simply watching the herd to fully engaging with or even riding them. ITCH provides a place where people can connect with horses in a unique manner – on the ground or in the saddle.
Our non-ridden activities include horse awareness courses, 1-2-1 or group equine assisted learning sessions, plus more traditional horse care and stable management. We offer several horse-assisted individual programmes as well as Mindfulness courses, Wellbeing sessions, and Team Workshops for Business.

We are often asked by customers if they can buy their favourite Kingsmead Horse a present and what is the best thing to buy?
We have included treats and supplements for the horses and items such as tack cleaners to help the staff keep everything ticking over.
Please message us if you want to buy a particular horse a supplement or feel free to select anything on the list.
Thank you once again for your support - it makes a big difference to the horses and people at KEC

We can offer a range of opportunities including:
Horse care sessions (which can include formal training leading to industry recognized qualifications for those looking for a career with horses).
‘Overcoming obstacles’ (good for building confidence and developing awareness and problem solving in a non-pressured and fun environment).
Therapeutic rides – a steady walk out on horseback with an experienced leader.
Structured lessons – lessons are 1-2-1 or in small groups depending on the students’ needs.
What else can we offer your school?
We can arrange a school visit from Lead Facilitator Fiona who will come and talk about the horses. We can even arrange to bring ponies to your school.
